DOD Hagel Cancels Obama's Order on Rape in Military

  • The system of Uniform Code of Military Injustice leaves all power in the hands of the commanding officers, which curiously excludes the chief executive of the U.S. when he is a minstrel president. The “unlawful command influence,” is a new invention of DOD which ignores the president's assumed function as a lawmaker. Theoretically, Obama could just reverse all of those opportunistic exoneration with an executive order. As a constitutional lawyer he is well aware of that fact. But the sexual fringe benefits must be preserved for the praetorian guards.

The American legal system is a pathetic exercise worthy of the banana republic that it is. Mass murderers go free. The Bradley Mannings of the World get broken and frighten into humiliating himself in a desperate attempt for a reduced sentence. Truly Uncle Joe Stalin could learn something from his American counter part in the business of show trials and torture. Apologizing for heroic and virtue makes me want to puke. Blaming his phantom crimes on his homosexuality and drunken parents is even more disgusting. Manning's speech was deeply humiliating for all decent people. I don't blame Manning at all. He has done enough for any kid his age. The shame lies with us and those who tortured him into such absurd and false proclamations.

"Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel has issued a directive ordering the military to ignore a May statement made by President Obama in which he said that service members who commit sexual assault should be 'prosecuted, stripped of their positions, court-martialed, fired, dishonorably discharged.'
    ...
Experts in military law said it was unusual for a memorandum like Mr. Hagel’s to come from the Secretary of Defense, who directed recipients to 'ensure this message is widely and immediately disseminated throughout your organizations.'

'It is a remarkable document,' said Eugene R. Fidell, who teaches military justice at Yale Law School. 'I can’t remember a document quite like this coming from an official at this senior a level. It has been said that ‘unlawful command influence’ is the mortal enemy of military justice.'

Meanwhile, media outlets are also doing their part in covering up sex crimes committed by officers in the military, three of which were in positions of power for military programs (on three current bases) tasked with preventing and addressing sex crimes:

And! In related news, the army is preparing to court martial a married general for sexual assault in an illicit affair that lasted 3 years. It will be only the 3rd general court martialed in the last 50 years.

**What we seek to ask our audience is this:
what are the intersections that you see between imperialism and systemic sexism/sexual abuse? How can one feed the other?**
